Gold in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe has a diverse geology endowed with over 40 different minerals, the majority of which are not fully being exploited. The mineral deposits are widely distributed, although mainly found in two prominent geological features, known as the Great Dyke and Greenstone Belts, where most chrome, gold, nickel, and platinum deposits can be located.

It is estimated Zimbabwe still holds 13 million tons of gold in reserve.

The following factors contribute towards Zimbabwe being an attractive prospect for mining investment:

  • Significant Gold Reserves – 13 Million tonnes (Estimated)
  • Growing technical skills base in various disciplines related to mining
  • Improved regulatory environment
  • Transparency in the granting and protection of mineral rights
